Sexual Assault Support & Help For Americans Abroad

The SASHAA Program was launched in 2012 by the Americans Overseas Domestic Violence Crisis Center, AODVC, in response to increasing calls from American sexual assault victims who are living and traveling overseas. Our international advocates have been extensively cross-trained in sexual assault and domestic violence crisis response.

All communication with SASHAA Advocates is confidential. A SASHAA Advocate can help if you just want to talk or if you are seeking assistance for help in the foreign country. You don't have to be alone. We are here to help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. SASHAA Advocates have access to a database of sexual assault resources in countries around the world to be able to best suggest the safest options for getting medical treatment or law enforcement reporting Sexual assault is any type of sexual contact or behavior that occurs without the explicit consent of the recipient. Falling under the definition of sexual assault are sexual activities as forced sexual intercourse, forcible sodomy, child molestation, incest, fondling, and attempted rape.
